Following the massive success of Over the Hill 2019, which had a capacity audience bathed in glorious sunshine for the day, the event, set in the stunning surroundings of Cogges Manor Farm (a location for Downton Abbey) in the heart of the Oxfordshire Countryside is back, bringing the very best UK based (and this year American) Americana, Country, Roots and Blues acts to the 2 beautiful stone barns that house the Nashville & Austin stages.
Confirmed acts so far include…
Bennett Wilson Poole
Danny George Wilson (Danny and the Champions of the World, Grand Drive) and Robin Bennett (The Dreaming Spires, Goldrush, Saint Etienne) join forces with Tony Poole (Starry Eyed and Laughing), producer extraordinaire and king of the electric twelve-string Rickenbacker, their voices, guitars, and song writing combining to marvellous effect in a collection of songs that began as uplifting acoustic music and grew into something far more wide-ranging and transcendent.
Pulling on influences from the 60s pop of The Byrds, The Beatles and The Beach Boys, through to the harmonies of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, with dashes of Petty and Springsteen thrown in for good measure, perhaps the most remarkable thing is that what shines through all of this is the quality and originality of the song writing.
Winner of Song of the Year at this years AMA UK Awards this Bristol based artist seamlessly weaves rootsy blues, country and soulful rock with a contemporary edge and her trademark smoky vocals taking the lead. With headlining tours of the UK and Europe under her belt and the release of the acclaimed album Road I Call Home in 2019 she’s primed to take the next step to much wider recognition.
Kaitlyn Baker has been called a new coal miners daughter. The 23-year-old singer/songwriter has been making waves in Nashville, since the release of her ballad Coal Train, which was chosen by the Academy of Country Music as part of the star-studded 2015 ACM Awards ZinePak album and The Huffington Post included her among Top 10 Country Artists to Watch.
